    10-13 OF NOVEMBER, 2008. WORLD TRAVEL MARKET IN LONDON.

    Staged annually at the ExCel center in London, World Travel Market is a must attend, business to business exhibition. WTM provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate, conduct business and stay abreast with the latest developments in the travel industry.

    As in previous years, El Salvador participated in this fair, displaying one of the most successful stands and offering a cultural program that included a delicious sampling of Salvadoran typical food, interesting information on our country and Salvadoran artisans showcasing their techniques on the manufacturing of traditional products with high acceptance throughout the international market such as: hammocks, table clothing, etc.

      The Stand was attended by the following Salvadoran delegation:
    • Mr. Ruben Rochi, Minister of Tourism
    • Mrs. Elena de Rivera, General Manager
    • Mr. Raúl Paniagua, Marketing Manager
    • Miss. Claudia Argumedo, Coordinator of Shows.

    Dressed as a Volcaneña and greeting the public was the Salvadoran Mrs. Nelly Araujo Welham.
    Salvadoran citizen Mrs. Rina de Zepeda was in charge of making and serving our traditional pupusas.

    In this opportunity, the british- salvadoran Bevan family, are at the stand of El Salvador at the Anglo-Latin Fair, representing and promoting some of the finest samples of coffee imports, through their business El Salvador Coffee Co.

    This pictures were taken at the "El Salvador Stand," allocated inside the "Anglo Latin American Foundation (ALAF)" that took place on Saturday, October 18th at Kensington Town Hall, London. All the profits raised the stand of El Salvador were donated to the ALAF foundation, to fundraise money for the children of Latin America.

    The capital of the country, San Salvador, was funded in 1525 and it's original name was "Quetzalcoatit‡n" meaning: "Land of Quetzals" (it is assumed there were a vast variety of this birds in the area).
